Tibetans In Exile

Mac Leod Ganj, near Dharamsala, hosts the largest community of Tibetan refugees in India. Mac Leod Ganj is the home of the Tibetan government in exile. Its headquarters and the residence of the Dalai Lama are perched on the hills of Dharamsala.

Mac Leod Ganj is the center of the resistance to the oppression of Tibet by China. I am here in July 2008, almost a month before the Olympics start in Beijing. The mobilization for the Tibetan cause is much stronger than usual, in response to the recent arrests and misuses committed by Chinese authorities in Tibet.
